Imperial & Metric Wire Sizes Marine Swage Dimensions
Use this reference table to confirm the correct swage outer diameter before and after swaging with the appropriate die set, for both imperial and metric wire sizes. The linked table specifies before-swage and after-swage outer diameters, hole diameter, and hole depth for both standard rigging and lifeline applications, and Covers wire diameters from 1/16" up to 1" (and 1.5mm to 26mm metric equivalents).
Hi-MOD Installation
Installation starts with untwisting and prepping the wire strands, seating the cone fully into the fitting body, and positioning the Crown Ring before tightening the assembly hand-tight plus an additional half-turn, secured with Loctite thread locker. Hi-MOD fittings are designed to be fully reusable, so routine inspection and reassembly is possible as long as the cone hasn't become distorted or damaged from prior use. The guide also covers proper tool use and torque guidance to help ensure the fitting reaches its full rated strength on first assembly.
Handy Crimp Instructions
The straightforward process is designed to be completed with standard hand tools, making it accessible for quick field repairs or shop installations.
This quick-reference guide walks through the seven-step process for properly crimping Hayn's Handy Crimp fittings.
Swaging Techniques
