Surface and Back Mounting Ball Sockets

Hayn Surface and Back Mounting Ball Sockets are Type 316 stainless steel receiver fittings for use with Hayn Ball End Fittings, available in flush mount and surface mount configurations with a 40° pivot angle to accommodate cable entry angles across cable rail, decorative hanging, and temporary display applications.

Strong Where It Matters

Surface and Back Mounting Ball Sockets

The ball socket and ball end fitting work together to allow the cable to pivot up to 40° at the connection point, accommodating off-angle post geometry without requiring custom termination hardware. The flush mount version (BCM6) installs into a 3/4" post hole for a low-profile recessed appearance, with a slotted version (BCM6-C) available for installations where the cable needs to be inserted laterally rather than threaded through the socket. The surface mount versions (BCFM6 and BCFM6-C) attach directly to the post face using a 1/4" mount screw or 6mm x 1.25 thread, and are compatible with Threaded Termination Stud Turnbuckles for installations requiring tension adjustment at the socket end.

Engineered In America Every Hayn fitting is designed and manufactured at our facility in Rocky Hill, Connecticut — the same American workmanship that has set the standard for stainless steel rigging hardware since 1950.
Cold-Worked Production Hayn fittings are cold-worked, not cast. That distinction matters: the cold-working process refines grain structure, increases fatigue resistance, and produces a fundamentally stronger component — one built to perform when the load comes on it.
Precision Manufacturing Our Rocky Hill production floor runs CNC vertical mills, CNC lathes, large-capacity mill-turn centers, and waterjet cutting systems — all configured to produce hardware that meets exact specifications, every time.
75+ Years of Excellence Hayn has been engineering and manufacturing marine and architectural rigging hardware since 1950. That track record isn't just history, it's the design knowledge, failure data, and continuous improvement that goes into every product we make.
