Twist Shackles

Hayn Twist Shackles are Type 316 stainless steel shackles with a twisted body that offsets the pin axis from the bow axis, allowing connection to fittings where a standard D or bow shackle would create misalignment, available in three pin configurations across nine sizes with minimum breaking loads from 1,320 lbs through 24,200 lbs.

Strong Where It Matters

Twist Shackles

The twisted body geometry rotates the pin axis relative to the bow so the shackle can connect hardware sitting at an angle to the load direction without introducing side-loading or misalignment into the assembly — the same functional advantage as the Long Twist Shackle in a more compact body form. Standard screw pin covers everyday connections; socket head pin offers a cleaner profile where tool access is limited; and shake proof retained pin adds positive locking for high-vibration or offshore applications. Available across pin sizes from 5/32" through 3/4" with the full standard screw pin and socket head ranges running nine sizes, and shake proof available from 3/16" through 5/8" body diameter.

Engineered In America Every Hayn fitting is designed and manufactured at our facility in Rocky Hill, Connecticut — the same American workmanship that has set the standard for stainless steel rigging hardware since 1950.
Cold-Worked Production Hayn fittings are cold-worked, not cast. That distinction matters: the cold-working process refines grain structure, increases fatigue resistance, and produces a fundamentally stronger component — one built to perform when the load comes on it.
Precision Manufacturing Our Rocky Hill production floor runs CNC vertical mills, CNC lathes, large-capacity mill-turn centers, and waterjet cutting systems — all configured to produce hardware that meets exact specifications, every time.
75+ Years of Excellence Hayn has been engineering and manufacturing marine and architectural rigging hardware since 1950. That track record isn't just history, it's the design knowledge, failure data, and continuous improvement that goes into every product we make.
  • Type 316 stainless steel construction for superior saltwater corrosion resistance
