Hayn Rod Rigging Insulator
The Hayn Rod Rigging Insulator is a backstay insulator manufactured by Petersen Stainless in the UK and distributed by Hayn, designed to break electrical continuity through rod rigging systems across NAVTEC rod sizes from -08 through -30.
Rod Rigging Insulator
Backstay insulators are required on any sailboat using the backstay as an antenna ground plane, and the rod rigging version must handle the same high loads as the rod itself while maintaining electrical isolation between the upper and lower sections. Manufactured by Petersen Stainless to the same production standards as the Hi-MOD compression fitting line, each insulator ships with the corresponding rod cap part number included, eliminating a separate ordering step. Available in seven configurations covering rod sizes from -08 through -30 with thread sizes from 1/2-20 through 7/8-14 and hardware factors from 9-3/4" through 14-7/8". When ordering by NAVTEC part number, specify the rod dash size to ensure the correct rod cap is included.
