NAVTEC BY HAYN
The NAVTEC Y110 Rod Heading Dies are tool steel die sets used to head Nitronic 50 rod rigging, available in individual sizes for every NAVTEC rod dash size from -04 through -60 to ensure a correctly formed head on each rod end.
NAVTEC Y110 Rod Heading Dies
Rod heading is the process that forms the enlarged head at the rod end, which seats into the cup of a stemball tang, spreader tip cup, or other socket fitting — and using the correct die for the specific rod dash size is essential to producing a head with the right geometry and dimensional accuracy. The Y110 dies are sized at 4" length, 3" width, and 3" stack height across all 12 standard configurations, and are used with a hydraulic press to form the head without compromising the Nitronic 50 rod's material properties at the terminal end. Larger die blocks and additional sizes beyond the standard range are available on request by contacting Hayn directly.
